هَرْوَلَ He walked quickly: (Mṣb:) [he went a kind of trotting pace between a walk and a run; see رَمَلَ;] هَرْوَلَةٌ is not so quick as خَبَبٌ [an amble]; (Mṣb;) and is between مَشْىٌ [a walk] and عَدْوٌ [a run]: (Ṣ, Mṣb, Ḳ:) it is a kind of عَدْوٌ: (Ṣ:) or quicker than عَنَقٌ: or a quick walk. (Ḳ.)
